[FOTD] Smokey Eyes using Inez Eyeshadow #Vienna (a short review)

Before I start blabbing to much about FOTD, please keep in your mind that I'm not a professional make-up artist, not even close! I do my make-up just with my intuition and by looking how other make-up gurus putting on their make-up.

So, for today's make-up, I tried to match my eye shadow colours with my clothes, which has got blue theme. I was going to use blue eyeshadow but i don't have any (I should make a mental note to buy blue eyeshadow later o_O) Fortunately, I've got this Inez eye shadow I bought 4 months ago. At that time, I bought this Inez because the BA said the quad colours were great to make smokey eyes look.

This quads is named after a capital city of Austria wich is Vienna. I have no idea why they named it with Vienna but the colours are great! All colours are pigmented even though i'm not putting on any eye primers.

This is what the quads look like....

The package is dark blue in a glossy plastic material. Some people say they hate the design. For me, personally, it's just okay. At the back of the package, you can find the manufacturer name and address, the code of the eyeshadow, and the expired date. I like how they print the date not on the label but directly on the plastic package itself. It means I needn't worry forgetting the expired date.
Inside, there is a mirror (which is big enough) and the quads. The quads have 2 shimmery colours and 2 matte. The colours (from left-right, top-bottom) are Black (matte), Dark Grey (shimmer), Light Grey (shimmer), and Taupe (matte). It's got a double applicator but I think the applicator is too hard. Whenever I use it, I always hurt my eyes. Too bad.

And here are the swatches on my arm. Aren't they pretty? From all of the colours, Taupe is the least I like. It's too light and even though I've applied it a couple times, still the colour doesn't appear much.

At the bottom photos, those are tools I used to create this smokey eyes look.
  • Masami Shouko Lid Brush - M 206
  • Masami Shouko Dome Brush - M 215
  • X-pert Sponge Applicator
Here are the steps to create smokey eyes!
  1. Apply eyeshadow base on eyelids (I used Viva Eye Base Gel or Aubeau Eye Make-Up Base) and wait until it's absorbed into your skin.
  2. Using the X-pert Sponge Applicator, apply #Taupe onto your 1/3 of your lid, start from the inner corner of your eyes.
  3. Apply #Dark Grey onto your 2/3 part of lid, so it's on the middle.
  4. Apply #Black onto the last part of your lid. At this step, you will have 3 different colours on your lids.
  5.  Now, blend the area between two different shades with Masami Shouko Dome Brush well.
  6. Still with Masami Shouko Dome Brush, pat a bit #Taupe shade and blend the crease of your lids.
  7. Highlight the brow bones with #Light Grey using Masami Shouko Lid Brush and blend well.
  8. If you want to, you can add more #Black at the outer corner of your eyes. It will create a strong smokey eyes look. (In these photos, I used only a bit of #Black for my daily office make-up)
  9. Add black eyeliner to make your eyes popped! (Here, I used KI Lumiere Liquid Waterproof Eyeliner).
  10. Last, coat your lashes with your favourite mascara. I use Maybelline Volum Express The Falsies, but be careful! Don't buy or use the fake ones! Read here how to know the original and the fake Maybelline The Falsies
  11. Tame your brows with eyebrow pencil/gel. I use e.l.f Eyebrow Kit and it's my Holy Grail for eyebrows.
  12. You're done!
And here's the overall result. Tadaaa.....

What I used?
Hada Labo Shirojyun Ultimate Whitening Series
Skin Aqua Whitening Sun Block SPF 20+++
Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm
Viva Eye Base Gel
e.l.f Eyebrow Kit #Medium
Inez Colour Contour Plus Eye Shadow Collection #Vienna
KI Lumiere Waterproof &Peel-Off Liquid Eyeliner #Black
Maybelline Volum'Express The Falsies Waterproof Mascara
Wardah Exclusive Lipstick no.33 #Peach Brown

Caring Colour BB Cream Everlast Review - Truly lasts all day!

Ngomongin soal BB cream emang nggak ada habisnya! Inget banget dulu BB cream didominasi sama brand asal Korea. Sekarang, hampir semua brand makeup ngeluarin line BB Cream mereka, termasuk brand lokal. Hehehehhee....

Baiklah, mari kita mulai reviewnya...

Packaging

Bedanya, tutup-nya si Caring ini rada seret, which is good, karena kemungkinan terjadinya kebocoran lebih kecil.

Hasilnya? TOP MARKOTOP!

Yeeaaah!
  • Isi terjamin kualitasnya dengan segel dobel.
  • Harga terjangkau (sekitar 50 ribu)
  • Oil control terbukti tokcer!

Thanks for reading!

Yuk kita bahas satu-satu...

My new camera! NIKON Coolpix S2700 - small camera with great power!

As a narcissistic girl (ups, woman), having a camera is a must! I was born in a family where all my family members like taking pictures and having their pictures taken. Moreover, my daddy is a lecturer who sometimes teaches photography subject at his college. So, I can say being narcissistic is just like a faith.

Unfortunately, my hobby, which is having my pictures taken, was a little distracted since my old camera (it is SONY by the way) was broken. Its flash light went dead because of ??? (I don't know why it's broken). The quality of the pictures are actually okay as long as we take them outdoor. It will be a completely different story if you take pictures indoor or in a place with a low light, the pictures taken will always be dark. It was so annoying that I prefer taking pictures with my husband's mobile phone than with it. Well, I could say that he wasn't happy at all as I kept stealing his phone and used it to take pictures. He complained that I was the cause of its flat battery. What can I say? I can't live without a camera....

Thank God, this month I got bonus from TBI because they said I was the best participant in GITE training. Yeeaaaay! With that bonus, I and my husband finally decided to buy a new camera. This time, we made a mental note not to buy Sony camera. No offense, but Sony camera is a piece of junk! After doing a little reseach on Google, we decided to pick either Canon PowerShoot A2500 or Nikon Coolpix S2700. We could't choose right away because we didn't want to make a decision without checking the cameras by our own eyes.

As I went to Carrefour ITC Depok to buy some vegetables last Friday, I bumped into the electronic section. They were having sale for most of the products that day. I checked the cameras and they were also on sale! I phoned my husband immediately and told him to pick me up so that we could go to Carrefour and check the cameras together. Later, we were comparing those two cameras; from price to features. Thanks to this site www.snapsort.com which was really helpful, providing detailed information for each camera and made us easy to decide.

After a while, we finally ended with Nikon Coolpix S2700. Even though the price was slightly more expensive than Canon, but it has got more features than Canon. Luckily, it was also on sale so we got free memory card with 8 GB capacity and a bag of Nikon accessories (camera strap, small tripod, key chain, and lens cleaner). What a bargain!

Now, I'm still testing this Nikon camera because I haven't got the opportunities to test all its features. You can see some pictures taken with this camera in my blog post about Hada Labo. You can also check some reviews I got from the internet here:

So far, I love it! It's small yet powerful!

My TNT (Tried and Tested) Basic Daily Skincare Routines!

Yeaaaay, after a week of torture, I finally have got enough time to update my blog. There are so many things I’d like to share to you girls. Anyway, last week I had to do a training in Kuningan which was so tiring since it took almost 3 hours to travel from Depok to Kuningan. Apart from that, I enjoyed the training so much because I can make new friends and learn a lot from my colleagues. This training, GITE (General Introduction of Teaching English), was held in TBI (The British Institute) Kuningan. Basically, this training is about how to teach English as a second language. I found out that this training was similar to teacher’s training conducted by ILP, which was my previous work place. The only difference was ILP conducts the training for the whole month, while TBI only for a week! But it was still a week of torture. The good news about this GITE training is because one of the tutor there said that I was the strongest in the class. Yeaaah!

Okay, stop talking about the torturing week. As I told you, I’ve got many things to share and today I’m going to start with the most important ones which is the basic daily skin care routine. Shall we start?

I believe you all have known about my not-so-good experience with a brand which had caused irritation to my skin face so that i had to consult the doctor. Since then, I have been visiting the clinic religiously in order to maintain my skin. And yes of course, I have extra expenses of paying the treatment creams which cost a fortune! (well, once I spent almost half million rupiahs!). Lately, my schedule are quite tight so I can’t visit the doctor. As a result, my skin is getting dull, probably because I’m running out of the treatment creams.

I think it is bad to be addicted to certain treatments from doctor. That is why I've been trying to find a right treatment for my skin using drugstore products for about three months. Well, I can say this journey wasn't always smooth. I did have bad breakouts when I tried some products (fortunately I realized it soon enough to stop using them). At the end, I've got the right treatment for my skin. It feels like I had just found a treasure!

So, these are my TNT (Tried and Tested) basic daily skincare routines!

1. Viva Green Tea Milk Cleanser and Toner
What can I say? These two products are the best ever! I've tried so many cleansing products which are expensive but Viva has the best result. With less than IDR 5.000 for each product, I can have a very clean and smooth face. Its cleansing milk has a great texture to clean dirt, oil, and makeup  residue and its toner feels so good to freshen your face. I choose this variant because it is said that it’s suitable for oily and acne skin.

2. Wijaya Skincare Facial Wash Sensitive
This is the only product that I’m still using from the clinic. I like it because it’s perfume-free and colourless. Moreover, unlike most facial washes (especially drugstore products), it won’t give you a stiff face after using it. I also get a good bargain with this product because a bottle can last for a month and I share this with my husband!

3. Gizi Super Cream
Another great local product! Just Google this product and you will find lots of Indonesian women share their good experience with this. I won’t say much about it now, but I want to tell you all that after using this product for a month, I have smoother and less-oily skin. Hell yeah!

4. Vitacid 0,025% Retinoic Acid Cream
I got information about this product from my friend who has been struggling with acne since she was in junior high school. She said that her doctor gave her a prescription which this product was included there to help her fight the acne. I only use this when I have a breakout (which is quite rare) and when I have my period (usually I will have one or two acne during my period).

5. Parasol Sunblock Cream SPF 33
Last but not least is this sunblock cream which is only around IDR 35.000. Even though the packaging is very boring, I still like this because it is produced by a well-known pharmaceutical company in Indonesia. I think it is not considered as makeup, but as a skincare product. Anyway, this product give me benefit than other similar products.

Well, that’s all girls! After I finish with those steps, I usually continue with my makeup routines (which will be discussed later in another post). I figure out by doing those steps, my skin isn't as oily as it used to be and my skin feels moist and smooth. The most important thing is I spend less than IDR 100.000 for all my basic daily skincare products!

Have you got same experience as me? Please do share, girls!
